- When the Clock Strikes Midlife
As a Former Network Television Executive at CBS Daytime, we coveted the 18-49 age group. When I turned 49 it felt as if the world was over. I was about to become invisible. Then halfway through my 50th year while I was picking up my 8 year old daughter from school, I looked around at all the moms and realized I wasn’t much different than they were.
Age was just a number and we are not our mother’s midlife. In fact, we are not invisible but rather invincible and the light switch turned on. I decided to dedicate my life to raise other midlife women’s mindset, motivation and get clarity on what’s next in their second half.
That’s when I founded The New Mid Academy, created and host The New Mid radio show/podcast and began to speak at events for midlife women.
The New Mid is a frank, funny look at women in mid-life and their day-to day-struggles and successes, as well as the big stuff - questions about meaning, fulfillment and happiness.
It’s a place where women in their 40’s and up are breaking societal boundaries and expectations, while still dealing with real life issues such as caring for aging parents or restarting their careers.
You’ll get real talk with nothing held back about the topics you care about, with experts weighing in on health, sex, finances, relationships and everything in between.
The New Mid is #7 in the “Top Ten Valuable Podcast for Midlife Women.” I’ve interviewed famous guests such as Joan Lundon, Dominique Dawes, AJ Langer-Courtenay, Heather Monahan, Amy Lacey, as well as expert guests, NYT Bestselling Authors, all to discuss topics that help and inspire midlife women.
I believe that helping women choose faith in themselves, in the goodness of others, and realizing that we’re all meant for more is what gets me up in the morning. I want to give them superpowers and stop them from playing small!
