In today's New Mid Tips I take a look at how we can find Hope in what we're going through during this difficult time of being Quarantined. There are simple steps we can take to help ease our situation and come out of it more hopeful.

1.     Water: It’s very important that you stay hydrated. It’s probably easy to forget to drink water right now but your body, your brain needs it more than ever.

2.     Give yourself Alone Time: Find somewhere, sometime that can just be yours. Whether it be taking a walk, a bath or a workout in a room alone. Make time to be with yourself without the people you are quarantined with. You need time to breath and be alone with your thoughts.

3.     Routine: Put yourself and your family on a routine. It doesn’t have to be stringent but at last if everyone knows what to expect their days to be like it will give your days more purpose. My kids no longer complain about our morning walks. They know now that we’ll all be walking it’s just a matter of one or two laps around the block.

4.     Gratitude: Writing down 3 things you’re grateful for everyday will help rewire your brain to look for the positive. But if you find yourself during the day thinking negatively or snapping at the people, you’re quarantine with…take a deep breath and find something to be grateful for in that moment. Start either saying them out loud or just going over the in your head.

5.     Notice Something New Every day: Look around your surroundings and find something new that you never noticed before. When you go on a walk look for something new. This will help you be more mindful and present.

6.     Reach Out to Someone: Get in contact with an old friend or family member that you haven’t spoken to in a while. Reminisce about times past. Or patch up relationships that might need a little patch work. Give love and joy to the people you know and love. We’re all in this together and reaching out to people right now is a wonderful way to find HOPE!
