The first half of life is for learning. The second half of life is for living.

The New Mid is a frank, funny look at women in mid-life and their day-to day-struggles and successes, as well as the big stuff - questions about meaning, fulfillment and happiness. It’s a place where women in their 40’s and up are breaking societal boundaries and expectations, while still dealing with real life issues such as caring for aging parents or restarting their careers.  You’ll get real talk with nothing held back about the topics you care about, with experts weighing in on health, sex, finances, relationships and everything in between.

I grew up hearing "The Grass is Always Greener." Have you heard the new version? "The Grass IS Greener because they use Filters!" It's never easy to try and stop comparing yourself to others especially in this world of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Here are Four simple ways to help you stop the Unfair Comparisons:

1- Gratitude: There are many reasons to concentrate on gratitude but when it comes to comparison this is a very powerful tool.

Oprah said, “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”

2- Water Your Own Grass: You will not get anything accomplished if you’re looking at other people’s grass. Take your time and energy to focus on yourself and what you’re doing. Transform those thoughts of comparison to create, invest and care about your own path.

3- Stop the “Shoulds”: I should be here…I should have this…I should be doing that…This type of self talk doesn’t help you grow and become the best you. It holds you back. Instead of saying “should” change it to “Want” and see what manifests!

4- Enjoy Where You’re At: I once heard someone say “Don’t compare Your “Middle or Beginning” to someone else’s “End.” That hit home for me. Enjoy where you’re at in your journey of life and make sure you’ve surrounded yourself with people who are supportive of you and your accomplishments and not jealous or belittle them.
