The first half of life is for learning. The second half of life is for living.

The New Mid is a frank, funny look at women in mid-life and their day-to day-struggles and successes, as well as the big stuff - questions about meaning, fulfillment and happiness. It’s a place where women in their 40’s and up are breaking societal boundaries and expectations, while still dealing with real life issues such as caring for aging parents or restarting their careers.  You’ll get real talk with nothing held back about the topics you care about, with experts weighing in on health, sex, finances, relationships and everything in between.

In my third Coronavirus COVID19 interview I spoke with Dr. Brookmyer again. We discuss some of the myths that have been circulating around. Can you self diagnosis by holding your breath for 10 seconds? If you need to quarantine a family what is the proper way to do it? Should you have playdates while schools are shut downs? As always this is a frank discussion without hyperbole and the desire to get the truth out there.

  • Coronavirus spreads person to person with respiratory droplets.
  • Certain places in the country are still in containment mode while other states are in the mitigation phase.
  • The symptoms of COVID19 are similar to influenza, fever of 100.4 for adults, cough, and shortness of breath.
  • People are now able to get tested more. Each state has their own requirements. For Maryland you still need a doctors recommendation but this is all very fluid and could change at any time.
