The first half of life is for learning. The second half of life is for living.

The New Mid is a frank, funny look at women in mid-life and their day-to day-struggles and successes, as well as the big stuff - questions about meaning, fulfillment and happiness. It’s a place where women in their 40’s and up are breaking societal boundaries and expectations, while still dealing with real life issues such as caring for aging parents or restarting their careers.  You’ll get real talk with nothing held back about the topics you care about, with experts weighing in on health, sex, finances, relationships and everything in between.

When COVID19 hit and life basically stopped, what happened to our goals for 2020? What about our vision boards that had travel, promotions and all sort of things that we couldn't do while we were quarantined. I asked my good friend author and keynote speaker Julie Gaver to come back on the show so we could talk about how do we reset our goals for 2020. Her advice might not be what you think!

Show Notes:

  • First it's most important to remember you can do hard things. We have whatever is inside us to be able to do hard things.
  • We may have bad days or get depressed about it but we'll make it through.
  • It's ok to put the goals that you had for this year and let them simmer.
  • Don't focus on what you're not achieving or if you're not being as productive as you're used to being.
  • Tips on how to set new goals.
  • Book recommendation: "Seven Sins for a Life Worth Living" by Richard Housden
  • The importance of returning to self.
  • Ideas on how and if you need to revisit your goals in September.
  • Be flexible. Nothing is in concrete.
