Today’s episode my guest Erin Hatzkostas who left on top of her career as the CEO of Pay Flex Inc. where she oversaw 1,000 employees and $2 billion dollars in assets and walked away. ·      After having a conversation with a woman at the airport who said to Erin “Who says this is the top?” She realized she needed to walk away from the corporate world and start her own business.

·      Three things Erin considered before making the leap: 1) She needed more breathing room in her life. 2) She wanted to be challenged again and feel uncomfortable. 3) She wanted to exploit her talents. 

·      When you’re looking at making the change take these steps: 

·      1) Have courage. Look for the thing that will give you courage. 

·      2) Be curious. Look for “extenders” it can either be someone you know or someone famous but look for someone who shows you what is possible. 

·      3) Experiment. Test things out to find out works before you leave your job. See what it feels like and what you need to do before you make the leap. 

·      Before you Leave your steady job have 6 – 12 months in savings. 

·      You need support from your family especially from your spouse.

·      Start your own business account which will treat your business decisions as a business. 

·      Don’t quite your job cold turkey. Make sure you’re in a place that won’t make your family suffer. 

·      After a year the foundation is set, and mechanism are in place to start making money. 

·      If you’re going to stay in your job and want to be more authentic one easy way is to write an authentic “Out of Office” reply. 

·      Write stories on posts for LinkedIn or Facebook. Be more human.
